Changed the thumbnail generator from SnapCasa to ShrinkTheWeb. SnapCasa just wasn't cutting it.

Blog homepages are removed from top pages results

As addition to our previous post, we also remove the blog homepage from first top results - resulting in more accurate and more interesting to end-user results.

This feature, as the previous one, wouldn't be implemented if we didn't have a great feedback page on uservoice. If you want a new feature in FoxRecord - make sure you visit that page.

Blog names are finally removed from page titles

We took into account the feedback on our uservoice page and implemented a new feature. Now, FoxRecord par parses your page titles, and removes the redundant blog name text from it. For example, before, if your blog was called "Blog of Gary", your top pages would look like this:
Blog of Gary

• Blog of Gary: A post about my cat
• Blog of Gary: About politics
• Blog of Gary: What I think about George W. Bush

Now, top pages list looks like:

Blog of Gary

• A post about my cat
• About politics
• What I think about George W. Bush

Advanced: you can still have top pages behave old way by specifying &includeblogname=1 as a parameter to FoxRecord call.

New algorithm for page rating calculation

A new, faster, algorithm for rating calculation was introduced! It is way faster - reducing the request time from couple of seconds to a whooping 300ms!

Feedback

FoxRecord now uses UserVoice feedback system to store and process feedback.
